Due to its history, impressive biodiversity, and landscapes full of culture and nature, the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu is the tourist destination in our country that best integrates the past of the Inca civilization with the challenging geography of the Andean-Amazon territory. In its dreamy corners, the visitor will have the opportunity to discover the various archaeological monuments, traveling through an impressive network of Inca trails and learning about the different types of life that have developed in a meeting area between the mountains and the thicket of the high jungle, where the sinuosity of the Toronto canyon surrounds the meandering Willcamayu River, the Sacred River of the Incas, the Vilcanota-Urubamba of our days.
The HS of Machupicchu is one of the places with the greatest biodiversity in Peru. In its interior we can find 24 different wild ecosystems, from the humid montane forests over 1900 . a. s. l. up to the snowy peaks at more than 6000 meters of altitude.
